REsources on PAlestine

On 22 July, the AU Commission Chair, Moussa Faki, made a unilateral and un-transparent decision to accept Israel’s credentials for observer status in the African Union (AU) without consulting member states or seeking a consensus position. Both the process and the substance of accepting credentials from an apartheid state contravene the AU Constitutive Act and bolsters nefarious political shenanigans from corrupt elites in the African continent.

Subsequently 23 countries made objections and insisted that the Executive Council meeting of Foreign Ministers in October must debate the issue. Again the Chairperson (DRC Foreign Minister) refused to take into consideration the number of countries opposing the decision and unilaterally deferred the matter to the Heads of State meeting scheduled for end January/early February.
